Welcome to the 3rd Battalion of Monroe County, New York

          The 3rd Battalion of Monroe County provides emergency services to the quadrant southeast of the City of Rochester, New York.  In 2007, 3rd Battalion departments responded to over 6500 requests for assistance.  Services include fire suppression, rescue and non-transport EMS.  On-going Fire Prevention and Public Education programs are provided by our departments throughout the year.  Monroe County is divided into 5 Battalions and the City of Rochester.  There are 39 volunteer or combination departments covering the 5 Battalions, the City of Rochester Fire Department with a career staff of over 500 and the Greater Rochester International Airport Fire Department, also staffed by career firefighters.  A career fire department is also maintained by Eastman Kodak.  All of the departments are participants in the Monroe County Mutual Aid Plan.
